Religion is a central component of New York’s cultural and social worlds.

I am involved in a number of teaching projects, both collaborative and individual, to trace and track the changing urban and transnational (global) religious landscapes. My next full scale research project will focus on the intersections of cosmopolitanism and global religions as they are lived within cities like New York. More on this to come.

Students will most likely be interested in the links to the left (to SacredGotham, the online wiki mapping New York’s religious communities) and the syllabi for two different New York religion courses.
