vDosWP Printing, Keyboard, and Macro Help

Printing options:

• LPT1 - prints to the default Windows printer without prompting
• LPT2 - sends print data directly to default printer, but printer must support PCL or PostScript
• LPT3 - creates a PDF on the Windows desktop
• LPT4 - creates a PDF and displays it in the default Windows PDF viewer
• LPT5 - opens a Select Printer dialog and sends data directly to printer, which must support PCL or PS
• LPT6 - opens a Select Printer dialog and prints to any Windows printer
• LPT7 - can be set up in CONFIG.TXT for use with a second, user-specified printer (see the vDosWP instructions)
• LPT8 - can be set up in CONFIG.TXT for use with a third, user-specified printer (see the vDosWP instructions)

Enter "LPT4", "LPT5", or "LPT6" etc. as "Other" or "Filename" in Print -> Select -> Edit -> Port

Keyboard features:

• Alt+Enter - toggles between windowed and full-screen mode
• Win+Ctrl+Click - draw rectangle to copy text to the Windows clipboard
• Win+F11/F12 - reduces/enlarges font size and window size (not available in full-screen mode)

Macros supplied with vDosWP:

• DBOXOPEN - opens current document in DOSBoxWP (if installed)
• EURO - types the Euro symbol
• NEWDRIVE - assigns a drive letter to any Windows folder
• PAGEVIEW - previews the current page in a PDF file in the temporary folder
• PDFMAKER - creates PDF with name of current document in the same folder (desktop for unnamed document)
• PDFVIEWR - like PDFMAKER, but opens PDF in default Windows PDF viewer application
• SAVEDOCX - converts current file to Microsoft Word format (requires a recent version of WordPerfect for Windows already installed in Windows)
• VDOSLESS - decreases the size of the vDosWP window (may be unreliable if more than one vDosWP window is open)
• VDOSMORE - increases the size of the vDosWP window (may be unreliable if more than one vDosWP window is open)
• VDOSHELP - opens this web page
• WINEDIT - open current document in WordPerfect for Windows
• WINLIST - select a Windows folder as default folder in WPDOS
• WINOPEN - select a file in Windows for editing in WPDOS
• WINSAVE - open and then save current file in WordPerfect for Windows
• WPDTOODT - converts current file to ODT format (edit WPDOS 6.x macro for options)
• WPTOWORD - converts current file to DOCX format (requires Microsoft Word to be installed in Windows)
• (WPDOS 5.1 only) MENUCLR - change screen colors for better appearance of optional WPDOS 5.1 menu
• (WPDOS 5.1 only) RESETCLR - restore WPDOS 5.1 default screen colors
• (WPDOS 6.x only) MOUSEON - enables mouse support in WPDOS 6.x
• (WPDOS 6.x only) MOUSEOFF - disables mouse support in WPDOS 6.x

Copy-paste macros with vDos Shell Emulation:

• SCOPY - copies document or block to Windows clipboard
• SAPPEND - append document or block to Windows clipboard
• SPASTE - pastes from Windows clipboard into WordPerfect

Copy-paste macros without Shell emulation:

• VCOPY - copies blocked text to Windows clipboard (or press Win-Ctrl-Click to start drawing a copy box)
• VPASTE - pastes contents of the Windows clipboard into WordPerfect (or press Win-Ctrl-Shift-V for slightly different results)
• GETCLIPW - pastes clipboard text that can include Greek and Cyrillic letters, and math and other symbols; requires WordPerfect for Windows installed in your system

Drive-letter management:

• Drive B: in vDosWP, drive B: is the name given to the vDosWP folder in Windows; vDosWP programs are in B:\PROGRAMS. This driver letter is not visible in Windows itself, and is only a name used by vDosWP.
• You may assign other drive letters in vDos to other Windows folders by running the supplied NEWDRIVE macro in WPDOS.

• Alt+Enter toggles between full-screen and windowed mode. In full-screen mode, the Win+F11/F12 keystrokes do not change the screen font size, and the size cannot be changed in full-screen mode unless you change the number of text lines in the vDos CONFIG.TXT file (see the full vDos web page for instructions).
