Of
the four scenes, the one which seems the most out of place is the dialogue
of Yuima and Monju, since it is unrelated to the life of the Buddha. The
most persuasive answer to this riddle is that Yuima, the educated layman
seated above to the left in a pose of intense discussion, is intended to
represent Prince Shôtoku himself.
