Entering the building, we see canopies suspended above each of the main images. The canopies are exact replicas of the ceiling of the building itself, each intended as a representation of the Buddhist paradise. The entire building is in effect a multiple mini-paradise. Painted in each little square inside the canopies is a tiny lotus flower, a Buddhist symbol of purity and salvation because of its ability to grow and rise above the muddy water. Lacy ornaments along the canopy edges enhance the heavenly effect. Along the upper right-hand edge of the each canopy you will see tiny figures. Seen more closely,
