I am an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University.  I am also a member of the
Data Science Institute at Columbia. Here is my CV. (Other random info about me here.)

I received my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University, where I worked with Lawrence Carin. I was then a post-doc in the Computer Science departments at Princeton University with David Blei and UC Berkeley with Michael Jordan.

I will teach Machine Learning as part of the ColumbiaX MicroMasters in Artificial Intelligence on edX starting Spring 2017.

Research group

My research interest is in the general area of statistical machine learning, including:
  • Probabilistic models and inference techniques,
  • Bayesian nonparametric methods,
  • Signal and information processing.
