I am a Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Applied Physics and
Applied Mathematics at Columbia University.
I also have an affiliation with the Department of Mathematics.
My research interests are in the areas of
Partial Differential Equations,
Applied Analysis, Dynamical Systems and their role in the
study of Waves in
Inhomogeneous and Random Media.
Research Projects include:
1) Nonlinear Scattering, Dynamics of Hamiltonian PDEs
and applications to the Control of Coherent Structures
in Optics and Quantum Physics
2) Waves in Microstructures, Scattering Resonances and applications to
Electromagnetics, Acoustics and Fluid dynamics
3) Cloaking, Coordinate Invariance and Inverse Problems
4) Mathematical Problems in Geoscience, e.g. Magma Flow --
Flow in Viscously Deformable Porous Media
