Speaking for Your Group:

I have delivered many public speeches to religious and freethought groups around the country, and have appeared on national television. I lecture on critical thinking, historical method, skepticism, and various topics in secular and naturalist philosophy, and ancient history. If you would like me to talk to your group, it is best to contact me several months in advance, though on occasion I can make a last-minute engagement.

I speak for free, but I do require travel and lodging expenses to be paid by my hosts. With ample advance notice I can often attend events most cheaply in California, especially in or near the Bay Area, Antelope Valley, Oxnard-Ventura, or Upland-Ontario.

I will speak on any subject in which I have expertise, given adequate time to prepare something. Besides a topic, I also need to know how long you expect the speech to be (though 45 minutes is typical). My areas of greatest expertise are ancient intellectual history (Greco-Roman philosophy, science, historiography, or religion), historical method, the origins of Christianity, the Scientific Revolution, debating skills, and the philosophy of naturalism (everything from naturalist epistemology or metaphysics, to aesthetic, moral, or political theory).
