CUIT computer accounts provide the following:
- UNI (University Network ID)
- Storage space (optional)
- Printing
- Internet access
- Email service (optional)
- Personal web pages (optional)
- Access to certain site-licensed software
- Access to course management system
All accounts include access to central UNIX computers, including
access to programming languages, statistical software, etc.
Your UNI, consisting of your initials plus an
arbitrary number, is the key to accessing computer services and
electronic resources at Columbia. You will use it to gain access, for
example, to restricted Library information on the WorldWide Web, Human
Resources and benefits information, and student grades, billing and
registration information. Please remember to type your UNI in lower
case when you login.
