The status of Campus computer systems, Labs and Campus networks as of Tuesday June 15th 9:45am is as follows:
CUIT is performing an important maintenance on Columbia Email (Cyrus) each night this week Monday 6/14 through Thursday 6/17. This scheduled maintenance is expected to start at 6pm EST and end at midnight. This may potentially affect up to twenty thousand users each night.
During each night of this scheduled, necessary maintenance, some subset of clients with @columbia.edu email addresses may not be able to access or send email. Not everyone will be affected at the same time. Most clients will not experience an outage, but if you are unable to access email between 6pm-12am EST this week please assume it is due to this maintenance. Due to the volume of potentially affected clients, we ask that email issues be reported during these times only if there is reason to believe the email problem is due to another cause.
Email delivered during these maintenances will queued up, and delivered. No email will be lost. This does not affect Alpha/Exchange customers, or other standalone departmental email systems.
CUIT apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but this action is necessary to ensure a more reliable service.
There are no other known issues with the campus systems or campus networks at this time.
