833 Mudd is a large lecture room with seating for 108 students and can handle most multimedia applications. The instructor's equipment is enclosed in a stationary cabinet.

Instructor's Electronic Podium

The equipment available to the instructor includes a ceiling-mounted Eiki Projector projector. Video is displayed on a pull-down screen. The podium contains the various electronic resources available to the instructor. These include a Dell Optiplex Pentium PC, a VCR and a DVD player. The PC has a built-in DVD/CD-ROM drive and an Ethernet network connection for digital presentations. The room is set up to record lectures and presentations using cameras mounted in different places around the room.

A room customized Crestron Touch Pad Unit controls the multimedia experience including the audio visual equipment, slide projectors, and the physical room environment (lights and speech/program volume).

The system utilizes an audio mixer and A/V receiver that powers speakers located at the front of the classroom. The system provides voice amplification via a wireless microphone system for speech, and provides system amplification for computer, DVD, or VCR playback.
