Facilities > Classrooms > ePodium Training: Exiting the System When you are finished using the equipment, it is not necessary to manually turn anything off. Please remove all of your media(disks, cassettes, etc.) and then simply touch the Exit button that is in the lower left corner of the Menu screen. When exiting the system, this confirmation screen will appear to ensure that you do not mistakenly shut it down and interrupt your presentation. ![]() Touch YES to EXIT and TURN OFF the system. The projector will shut down and the VCR and DVD will turn off. Please leave the computer on. This allows us to control and maintain it remotely. Do NOT flip off any power switches. Touch NO to CANCEL and return to the previous menu screen. Before leaving the room... It is imperative to make sure that the projector is off and the podium is locked before leaving the classroom. By performing the above steps, the projector should be off, meaning there is no light coming out of the lens. Locking the podium If there is no document camera on the flip-up shelf on the right side of the podium, bring down the shelf. Put both hands underneath each side of the shelf and simultaneously push the levers, which will release the lock on the shelf and bring it down. ![]() Set the keyboard tray back in place by first pressing the silver lever and bringing it down until it stops. Then flip it up forward and set it in place between the copper balls on the side. When in place, the top of the keyboard tray should be even with the top of the wood piece housing the copper ball. ![]() Adjust the keyboard tray by pressing this latch with your thumb. ![]() This is incorrect; the keyboard tray should be brought down some more. ![]() Bring the top part of the podium down FIRST instead of closing the doors. By closing the doors before bringing the top down, the podium will not lock properly. The top comes down before the door closes. ![]() Lastly, close the podium door. Make sure the metal edge of the podium door overlaps the side of the podium. Lock the podium by turning the key clockwise for both locks. If there are problems with the key turning on the middle lock try slightly pushing and/or pulling on the middle part of the door until the key turns fully to lock it. Please direct any questions and comments to erooms@columbia.edu. For any emergencies, please call 4-3633 between the hours of 8am-6pm Monday thru Friday.
