AcIS > Dev > Docs > Creating Dev Documents

  1. Select a destination for your document. This will be
    • Your project directory, if the document is related to a project
    • dev/group/doc/ if the document is related to your group
    • dev/doc/year/ if the document is not specifically related to your group

  2. Copy /www/data/acis/dev/templates/doc-template.shtml to the destination you selected. Edit the content as necessary. You may find it useful to set the following SSI vars before the template-top is included:
    • baseuri: The document BASE
    • bccategory: One of doc, project, or people
    • bcgroup: The group name to be placed in the breadcrumb trail (bcgroupuri must also be used)
    • bcgroupuri: The group URI to be placed in the breadcrumb trail (bcgroup must also be used)
    • bcno: If set to true, do not include the breadcrumb trail
    • bcproject: The project name to be placed in the breadcrumb trail (bcprojecturi must also be used)
    • bcprojecturi: The project URI to be placed in the breadcrumb trail (bcproject must also be used)
    • bctitle: The title to be used at the end of the breadcrumb trail, if different from title
    • noindex: Set to true to prevent spiders from indexing the page
    • title: The document title
    • titlegif: The file holding the title image

  3. To generate the title image, use WordImage.

  4. Add a link to the document from appropriate locations.
    • To add the document to the master document list, add an entry to dev/group/doc/doc-list.shtml or to dev/doc/index.shtml if it is not group specific.
