Electronic Data Service (EDS) offers a series of GIS workshops open to the entire Columbia University community, presenting basic GIS concepts and providing a forum for discussing GIS-related questions. All workshops are held in EDS, located at 215 Lehman Library

The workshops are hands-on, so participants will have a chance to use GIS software and data related to the workshop topic.

To subscribe to the workshop notification list, send an email to majordomo@columbia.edu with the text subscribe eds_gis in the body of the email. You will then receive further instructions on how to register with the listserv by email. Upon subscribing, you will receive an email before each workshop offered, usually with more detailed information than what's on the website.

Attendees are encouraged to bring questions as staff will be on hand to provide answers. If there are topics you would like to see covered other than the ones listed below, please feel free to request them either at the workshops or by sending an email to eds@columbia.edu.
