This document summarizes the expenses that Library should provide for as it plans for the move of Lehman Library's AcIS computer lab from IAB 215 to the West Reading room.
The first table lists costs, that should be included in the Library budget for this move, that arise from the need to clear the space that AcIS will use in the West Reading room.

For Lehman Library and Electronic Data Service this move creates an opportunity to plan for the growth in existing and new services. The size of the IAB 215, its proximity to the map room, the network wiring, and its availability prompted us to make an assessment of what we are doing now, how we expect our services to evolve, and how our strengths can complement any effort by the Library to support GIS services. The result is the accompanying document, "EDS Program Study."
The move of EDS from IAB 201 to IAB 215 is the first step in moving towards the services outlined in the program study. The following tables summarize the specifics of the equipment the Library will need to supply. The existing computer hardware, network wiring, and printer are not included since our current equipment can be used until the cycle for replacing and adding additional units comes around.
The sources that we have identified for the equipment are as follows:
- IAB 215 - Depending on the AcIS budget, furniture that is
currently
in 215 may be available to us. If AcIS decides to take this furniture
then Library would have to purchase these items.
- IAB 201 - Furniture currently being used in EDS that we anticpate taking with us.
- Library supply - Furniture that can be found in the current library supply.
- Purchase - Furniture which must be included in the budget for this move.
The Library budget should include the cost of moving the computer equipment and any furniture that must be moved in to IAB 215.
