833 Mudd is a large lecture room with seating for 108 students and can handle most multimedia applications. The instructor's equipment is enclosed in a stationary wood cabinet.

Instructor's Electronic Podium

The equipment available to the instructor includes a ceiling-mounted Eiki Data Projector projector. Video is displayed on a pull-down screen. The podium contains the various electronic resources available to the instructor. These include a Dell Optiplex Pentium PC, a VCR and a DVD player. The PC has a built-in DVD/CD-ROM drive, floppy drive, and an Ethernet network connection for digital presentations. The room is set up to record lectures and presentations using cameras mounted in different places around the room.

A room customized Crestron Touch Pad Unit controls the multimedia experience including the audio visual equipment, slide projectors, and the physical room environment (lights and speech/program volume).

The system utilizes an audio mixer and A/V receiver that powers speakers located at the front of the classroom. The system provides voice amplification via a wireless microphone system for speech, and provides system amplification for computer, DVD, or VCR playback.
