What are the telephone rates for local, regional, long distance calling?


Local Rates Local rates apply to area codes in the five boroughs of New York City: 212, 347, 646, 718, and 917. Verizon is the carrier for local and regional calls. Local calls are billed at Verizon rates minus the taxes and charges. Note: the rates below represent a per-call charge, no matter how long you talk.

Peak Period
(8am - 9pm, Mon - Fri)
$0.08 cents for initial 3 minutes, $0.013 cents for each additional minute

Off-Peak Evening
(9pm - 11pm, Mon - Fri;  5pm - 11pm Sun; 8am-11pm on Christmas, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, 4th July, labor Day)
$0.048 cents for initial 3 mins; $0.007 for each additional minute.

Off Peak (Night and Weekends)
11pm to 8am every day; 8 am Sat. to 5pm Sun.
$0.028 cents for initial 3 minutes;  $0.004 cents each additional minute.

Regional Rates Regional rates apply to area codes in the greater New York area: 516, 631, 914, and 845. 6 cents per minute, at all times.

Domestic Long Distance Rates 8 cents per minute, at all times.
