How do I get access to the Exchange Server?

CUIT maintains a server for Outlook e-mail, calendaring, contacts and tasks management. This server runs a a product called Microsoft Exchange that allows you to access your mail by using Microsoft Outlook on your PC or through a web browser. When Outlook is used in conjunction with our Exchange Server it becomes a powerful group application.

The Exchange/Outlook combination allows departments to address some of the common issues of sharing information and data more easily. Departments can e-mail documents as attachments, schedule resources (such as conference rooms and projectors) and meetings with other Exchange users. It is even possible to assign tasks to other Exchange users' task lists or share contact information or a group of forms or data files.

Access to the Exchange server is restricted and can only be obtained by making a request. Have your supervisor or manager send an email to central-ids@columbia.edu with the request and an Account Number to bill to.
