There is a known issue with iPhone's connecting to certain types of wireless access points in use at Columbia University. Apple is working on implementing a fix for this. In the meantime, from your iPhone you can select Settings, WiFi, then Other, and manually type in Columbia University as the network name. Then select Join, and your iPhone should connect to the WiFi network. You will need to repeat these steps each time you connect to the wireless network.
