  • 1 Gbps connection via Level 3
  • 5 Gbps connection via Cogent
  • 100 Mbps connection via RCN (for RCN residential cable modem customers)
Columbia's research and education network connections include:
  • NYSERNet NYC and statewide regional optical network ("dark fiber")
  • 1 Gbps connection to NYSERNet's IP network and from there to Internet2 and National Lambda Rail (NLR) packet net
  • 1 Gbps connection to the US Large Hadron Collider Network (USLHCNET) providing connectivity to CERN
  • Potential for much higher bandwidth and advanced networking connectivity as needed for specific research needs such as dedicated "waves" or "lambdas" and international dynamic circuit networks
