DEC CSLG is available to faculty and staff at Columbia University through CUIT for running on Digital VMS and Unix, as well as certain PC software. The cost and terms of this site license are as follows:
  1. The cost of the CSLG license is $230/year per system.
  2. The license is valid for the time period 04/01/05 through 03/31/06. The price is fixed and will not be pro-rated. It is available for renewal on an annual basis.
  3. Documentation concerning this software is not included in the cost of the site license.
  4. Any infringement of the site license agreement becomes the responsibility of the licensee and not Columbia University, i.e. CU shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages with respect to any claim by the licensee or any third party on account of or arising from this agreement or use of Digital CSLG.
  5. To be eligible for the CSLG, each system must have a legal digital (Commercial) Standard Operating system License appropriate for the system configuration.
  6. CSLG VMS and CSLG Ultrix (only available with a validated AT&T Software agreement) can only be used to increase the "users" on the system.
  7. CSLG Licenses have a one-year term.
  8. CSLG Licenses cannot be redesignated or relicensed.
  9. CSLG Licenses cannot be used for personal or commercial use.
  10. CSLG Licenses may only be used by authorized personnel of the Institution that are either a faculty member, student or employee of the institution.
  11. Only those systems owned or leased by the institution will be allowed to use CSLG Licenses; when a system is no longer eligible, the system manager must immediately notify the Site License Manager and deinstall all CSLG software on the system.
  12. VMS V5.0 or greater is required for VMS and VMS Layered Product support in the CSLG Program.
  13. CSLG does not support versions of VMS previous to V5.0.
  14. ULTRIX Layered Product Licenses are for use on ULTRIX systems only.
  15. Each member of the CSLG Program is required to provide the Campuswide License Manager with software usage information on a semi-annual basis.
  16. When a student, faculty member, or employee is no longer authorized to use the CSLG Progarm (graduates, transfers, etc.), the system manager must immediately delete affected accounts on multi-user systems.
  17. CSLG PAK's or the CSLG License Database cannot be disseminated, copied, or posted.
  18. CSLG VMS License is for upgrading to 1-8 users for workstations (VAXstations) and servers (VAXservers) and unlimited for other systems with the exception of VAX 6000 and VAX 9000 servers which can be upgraded by using the VAX/VMS File and Application Server to VAX/VMS Full Function Upgrade License.
  19. CSLG Licenses include the initial license and RTNV for the term of the CSLG Agreement.
  20. Systems with Standard Digital Ultrix, DECshell, and Ultrix Workstation Software Server Licenses will be granted the right to new version (RTNV) under CSLG.
  21. Only those systems with serial numbers that are under the institutions's validated AT&T Software Agreement will be allowed to use the CSLG Ultrix, DECshell, and ULTRIX Workstation Software Server Licenses.
  22. Upon prior notice to and coordination with Columbia University, Digital shall have the right to enter Columbia University's facilities at reasonable times during the normal business hours for the purpose of inspecting Columbia University's records for the Campuswide Software License Grant Program and to examine the member systems.
