Software > Site Licenses > MATLAB > MATLAB Site License Agreement MATLAB software is available to the academic community of Columbia University through CUIT for Windows, Macintosh, or Unix. The terms of this site license are as follows: The MATLAB license costs $30/machine per year with a 5-machine purchase minimum. The license is valid for the time period August 1st through July 31st. The price is fixed and will not be pro-rated. It is available for renewal on an annual basis. New users and those wishing to upgrade to Release R2007a will be required to purchase at least one installation kit for $15. Those requiring installation media for both the Unix and Windows operating systems may purchase a DVD for $15. Copies of MATLAB purchased through this agreement are restricted to use in connection with on-campus computing facilities that are used solely in support of classroom instruction of students. The right to use the programs for any other purposes, including academic research or for commercial purposes, is expressly prohibited. All payments must be made from a Columbia University FAS account with an IDI, University Requisition, or FFE document. The licensee is responsible for his/her own installation and setup. You must NOT install more copies of the MATLAB software than you pay for as per this agreement. Any infringement of the classroom license agreement becomes the responsibility of the licensee and not Columbia University, i.e. Columbia University shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages with respect to any claim by the licensee or any third party on account of or arising from this agreement or use of MATLAB.
