MATLAB License File

Software > Site Licenses > MATLAB > MATLAB License File

In order to get the license.dat file necessary for you to run your copy or copies of MATLAB, you must have already paid for your Classroom License entitling you to use of MATLAB between 8/01 and 7/31 of a given licensing year or a Research License entitling you to use of MATLAB between 2/01 and 1/31, also of a given licensing year. If you have already paid for your licenses and find that after one full business day (24 hours) you are still unable to log in, please send mail to sitelic@columbia.edu and give us the information on when and where you renewed your license.

You will need to log in using your Columbi UNI (University Network ID). This is (usually) the first part of your Cunix e-mail address. For example, if someone has the e-mail address 'jd27@columbia.edu', their UNI is 'jd27'. If your not sure of your UNI, look up your UNI here. Note: After looking up your UNI, click 'Back' two times on your browser to return to this page.

If you haven't used a Columbia secure web site before, you may need to download a Columbia site certificate. Visit Columbia's Digital Certificates and the Columbia Certificate Authority (CA) page for more information.

Choose the appropriate MATLAB License File

Attention: If you are running MacOS 10.2 you might also need to download a MATLAB Update directly from the Mathworks. You may need to go to http://www.xdarwin.org/download/ and download the Update Package for MacOS X 10.2 Jaguar and Updater for XFree86_4.2.1.1.
