MATLAB software is available to the academic community of Columbia University through CUIT for Windows, Macintosh, Unix, or Linux. The terms of this site license are as follows:
  1. Those licensing MATLAB through Columbia University agree to use MATLAB solely in support of instruction or research activities as students, teaching faculty and staff, and research staff. The right to use MATLAB for any other purposes, including commercial purposes, is expressly prohibited. Should you leave Columbia University during the terms of this license, you are not permitted to continue using this software and you are required to delete or destroy any copies you have installed on non-Columbia owned machines in your control.
  2. New users and those wishing to upgrade will be required to purchase at least one copy of the Media kit for $15. (The media comes in DVD format and includes all operating systems).
  3. The MATLAB license cost varies according to the type (concurrent or group) and number of licenses. The license is valid for the time period January 1st through December 31st. The price is fixed and will not be pro-rated. It is available for renewal on an annual basis. The software will not run after the license expires.
  4. All payments must be made from a Columbia University FAS account with an IDI, University Requisition, or FFE document.
  5. The licensee is responsible for his/her own installation and setup. You must NOT install more copies of the MATLAB software than you pay for as per this agreement.
  6. Any infringement of the license agreement becomes the responsibility of the licensee and not Columbia University, i.e. Columbia University shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages with respect to any claim by the licensee or any third party on account of or arising from this agreement or use of MATLAB.
