Cost Information

The cost of the SAS license to faculty and staff is as follows:
  • 1-5 copies: $195/copy
  • 6-10 copies: $125/copy
  • 11-24 copies: $100/copy
  • 25-99 copies: $75/copy
  • 100+ copies: $60/copy
*Please Note: Unix machines are priced by the number of CPUs in the computer rather than by licenses. The number of CPUs depends on the make and model of the Unix box you are using. You must provide us with that information in order for us to determine the price for the license. The cost is $575 per CPU. In addtion, server pricing for any platform will be calculated by the number of CPUs.

Student Price

The cost is $125 for students who are using SAS for their own research. University funds may not be used for this discount.
Media Kit Cost

In addition to the cost of the license, all new licensees and those choosing to upgrade to a newer version of SAS will be required to purchase at least one installation kit.

If you wish to purchase a SAS media kit you may do so for $90.00. This means that the total cost of a single copy with the kit is $90.00 more than the cost of the license alone. The installation kit includes full installation instructions.

Dates of SAS License

The license is valid from September 1st to August 31st of the following year. The price is fixed and will not be pro-rated. The software will not run after the license expires. Documentation is not included and must be purchased separately and independently.
