SPSS
The following information pertains to Columbia University Morningside Heights faculty and staff only. Columbia University Information Technology (CUIT) provides this license as a service to the Columbia University Morningside Heights community. Potential licensees should refer to General Policies regarding software licensing. Whenever possible, CUIT will answer questions about the installation and use of SPSS. However, the licensee is responsible for the installation and for understanding and maintaining his/her own hardware and operating system.
Note: Through an arrangement with e-academy, students interested in licensing SPSS may purchase the SPSS Graduate Pack at a discount for either a six or twelve month license through the e-academy online store.
The SPSS licensing period is June 1st through May 31st. Prices are fixed and will not be pro-rated. The software will not run after the license expires. Documentation is not included and must be purchased separately and independently.
The license includes the following SPSS Products:
- SPSS Base
- Advanced Models (formerly Advanced Statistics)
- Regression Models (formerly Professional Statistics)
- Tables
- Trends
- Categories
Any products or modules not included must be purchased directly from SPSS.

- 1-5 copies: $220/copy
- 6-10 copies: $135/copy
- 11-24 copies: $110/copy
- 25-99 copies: $75/copy
- 100+ copies: $55/copy
- Macintosh
- 1-5 copies: $312/copy
- 6-10 copies: $195/copy
- 11-24 copies: $155/copy
- 25-99 copies: $105/copy
- 100+ copies: $85/copy
In addition to the cost of the license, all new licensees and those
choosing to upgrade to a newer release of SPSS will be required to
purchase a copy of the installation CD for $15.
