SPSS is available to faculty and staff on the Morningside Heights campus through AcIS for running on Windows or Macintosh. Health Science faculty and staff must purchase SPSS through the Center for Academic and Information Technology (CAIT). Call 305-3694 for information.

The terms of this site license are as follows:

1. One copy of SPSS for Windows costs $220/year (the cost of one copy of SPSS for Macintosh is $325). For bulk pricing discounts, see SPSS Site License Information. It is valid for the time period July 30th through July 29th of the following year and will not continue to run after the license expires. The price is fixed and will not be pro-rated. It is available for renewal on an annual basis.
2. New licensees and those upgrading to new versions will be required to purchase at least one copy of the installation kit at a cost of $15 each.
3. Payments must be made from a CU FAS account with an IDI, University Requisition, or FFE document.
4. The licensee is not permitted to use SPSS for commercial or profit-making purposes. Its use is restricted to coursework or academic research endeavors. Should you leave Columbia University during the terms of this license, you are not permitted to continue using this software and you are required to delete or destroy any copies you have installed on non-Columbia owned machines in your control.
5. The licensee agrees to use the products only on machines which are owned by either the licensee or Columbia University and only on the number of machines paid for per this agreement.
6. Documentation is not included in the cost of the site license.
7. Any infringement of the site license agreement becomes the responsibility of the licensee and not Columbia University, i.e. Columbia University shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages with respect to any claim by the licensee or any third party on account of or arising from this agreement or use of SPSS.
