Sun ScholarPac
Columbia is a member of the Sun ScholarPac program. The program allows system administrators access to discounted software and for some applications, free downloads.
The University no longer has a software support contract. Sun hardware maintenance now includes OS support.

- StarOffice
StarOffice is a "full-featured office productivity suite that runs across multiple platforms, including Linux, Solaris[tm] and Windows." Creates formatted text, spreadsheets, slides, drawings, and scientific formulas.
Departments may order the two-CD set from Sun using a Purchase Order. Included is a documentation CD.
