X-Win32
X-Win32 is StarNet's an X terminal application for Windows computers, including Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4.0, 2000 and Windows XP. X-Win32 allows Windows users to connect to Linux/Unix servers on a local network or via the Internet.
X applications running on those servers will be displayed onto the Windows desktop. The X applications can run right alongside Windows applications and you can copy and paste data between the X and Windows applications.
X-Win32 is an IP-based service distributed to the Columbia community only via departmental licenses. Those, such as students, that wish to run X-Win32 off the Columbia network should contact Starnet directly to purchase their own educational license.
For further information on how to obtain a departmental license to be run on the Columbia network including pricing, please contact sitelic@columbia.edu.
