Configuring for Windows
If you have not already done so, download and install a copy of
Mulberry 3 from the Columbia software
download section before proceeding.
Note: If you have been moved to the Cyrus system, you will need to change your mail server by following our reconfiguration instructions.
- Start Mulberry, making sure that you have an active network connection (dial-up, PPP or Ethernet). Once Mulberry starts up, the User ID & Password dialog box will appear. Enter your User ID (UNI) and password, and then click OK.
|
 |
- Select Preferences from the File Menu. Select the Accounts tab and click the Advanced radio button on the right.
- Select Columbia SMTP from the Account drop-down menu.
| |
- Enter your User ID (UNI) and check Save User ID.
- Click the Simple button on the right.
|
 |
- Follow the model to the right to enter your own Real Name. If nobody else will be using your copy of Mulberry, it is safe to check Save User ID. However, it is more secure NOT to check Save Password. If you often run Mulberry in disconnected mode, you might prefer to uncheck Login at Startup.
- Click OK.
Tip: You can also set Mulberry to add a signature file to the bottom of each message you send by clicking on the Signature button and entering the desired text.

Mulberry is very flexible, and many other preferences can be configured aside from those shown here. Clicking the Advanced button on the upper right will allow you to access these other settings. However, you don’t need to go beyond the simple settings shown in the screen above to use Mulberry for basic e-mail functions.
