The Columbia Customizer will automatically configure a new installation of Netscape 7 or Mozilla to work with Columbia resources. It will also allow you to set the Columbia website as your homepage.

Install Instructions
  1. You must first install Netscape 7 or Mozilla if you have not already done so. Please refer to these instructions on how to install Netscape.

  2. Start the newly installed program (either Netscape 7 or Mozilla), and come back to this web page.

  3. Download the Columbia Customizer now. NOTE: The order you are prompted for steps 4 and 5 can vary depending on which browser you are using.

  4. In the Downloading Certificate window (check below in Figure 1 and 2), choose the option "Trust this CA to identify web sites." and then click OK.

  5. In the Software Installation window (check below in Figure 3), click Install.

  6. Click OK when the installation is complete.

  7. Exit Netscape 7 or Mozilla. Make sure to close all windows associated with Netscape 7 or Mozilla. Then, restart the program.
    • The first time you run the browser, the Columbia Customizer will walk you through configuring your home page and your email settings for Columbia's email servers.
  8. Click OK if you want your homepage to be the Columbia homepage or Cancel to leave the current default homepage.

  9. In the Account Wizard Identity window, type in your Full Name and your AcIS ID (your UNI, e.g. abc1234) and then click Next.

  10. After verifying your information in the Account Wizard, click Finish.
