OIL is the Online Information Link. The original description is available here. OILv2 is a transitional implementation until the functionality is incorporated into the new ID system.

OILv2 will offer the following services, implemented in this order:

  1. Login and session management.
    • Login via WIND ticketid
    • Internally maintained session management

    • Read
    • Write, with sanity checking

  3. .vacation
    • Get status (enabled/disabled)
    • Disable (and remove message)

    • Write message
  4. Read-only quota
    • Usage for each filesystem
    • Quota for each filesystem
    • Indication of "home" and "spool" filesystems
  5. Account information
    • Expiration date
    • Account type
  6. Mail
    • Read "From: " line of new messages
    • Read size of folders
    • Read size of messages
  7. Affiliation information and expiration
    • Read
  8. .procmailrc

    • Write, with sanity checking

    • Enabling of automatic spam filtration
  9. Snapshot Restore
    • List candidate files for restoral
    • Restore files to a non-clashing location
