Synopsis
With the continual decline of understanding of the Unix environment among the user base of AcIS email, various AcIS groups have expressed interest in developing a web based environment in which users may view and as appropriate manipulate facilities currently available only by logging in to a Cunix host. Such facilities may include (but are not restricted to)
  • Forwarding and vacation messages (WebForward)
  • Mail filtering (WebFilter)
  • Disk quota (WebQuota)
  • Account creation and expiration (WebCreate)
  • File Uploads and Permissions (WebFTP)
  • Web publishing controls (WebHTAccess)
The WebX naming scheme is extended here (as already used by WebCreate), but is for demonstration purposes only, to indicate how end users might view these services as different aspects of the same system. WebAccount is expected to be only a front end to these services, with actual functionality implemented by the Online Information Link.
