BlackBerry

The BlackBerry handheld device provides service through the cellular network allowing you to access your email with fast and reliable message delivery. Even if you are temporarily out of the coverage area, or if your BlackBerry is turned off, all messages sent to you are stored and forwarded automatically when you turn on your BlackBerry or return to the coverage area. The service is always on and always connected, so you can stay in touch with your colleagues while you are traveling.

The BlackBerry allows you to take your calendar, contact lists, and task lists with you wherever you go nationally and internationally. In addition to these features, added desktop software integration allows you to keep all your contact and schedule information in sync, both on your handheld device and on your desktop computer. Email attachments may also be viewed on the device. If you are a Central Server user, BlackBerry models are available to synchronize with your Outlook Exchange account, allowing wireless calendar updates. Built-in cellular service is also available on certain models.

BlackBerry Storm

The Storm is the first touchscreen BlackBerry device. It is available with service only through Verizon wireless. CUIT has tested this device and has found it acceptable, though the response from the on screen keyboard and system software is sluggish at best. If you are used to typing quickly on your BlackBerry device the Storm may be a tough transition. We encourage you to visit a Verizon wireless store to try the device first prior to purchase.
