Telecommunications > For Students > AT&T ACUS Service Students who have a Housing and Dining contract or lease with University Apartment Housing are eligible to receive an AT&T ACUS Service account with Personal Security Code (PSC). The AT&T ACUS Service account is used to bill optional services such as cable television and upgraded Rolmphone services you subscribe to. In addition, calls made using the PSC are billed on the same account. See Telephone Rates and Charges for details on billing charges. Creating an AccountIf you have a Social Security Number: You can verify that you have an account or have one created at the ACUS website or call the AT&T ACUS Service Center at 1-800-445-6063. If you do not have a Social Security Number: Undergraduate College and SEAS students who were assigned to Housing by July 25 should have had an account created. You should be able to access it at the ACUS Website as long as you know your temporary ID number. Graduate students with no Social Security Number must calll ACUS at 1-800-445-6063. From a RolmPhone, you can contact ACUS by dialing 4ACUS (42287). AT&T ACUS web site (http://www.acus.com/) 212-854-ACUS (212-854-2287) or 1-800-445-6063
Back to Top Making Calls with Your Personal Security Code The PSC (Personal Security Code) is a 10-digit number provided by AT&T ACUS that functions like a telephone calling card. Your 10-digit account number is separate number used for billing purposes. Only one account is issued per student. Your PSC usually remains the same while you are at Columbia. Each student in a room or suite has an individual PSC and ACUS account. That means that each resident receives an individual bill from AT&T ACUS Service for any calls made with the PSC, no matter what RolmPhone you use or where it is located. You should not share your PSC with anyone else. Treat it as you would a credit card. Go to dialing instructions, if you need to know how to make calls. Back to Top Optional Service Billing If you subscribe to any optional services, such as cable television, the monthly charges for these services are billed on the AT&T ACUS service bill monthly. The bill cycle begins on the 5th of a month and goes to the 4th of the next month. Cable and other optional service charges are billed the month following the service. Meaning, i.e., the October 5th bill will show the charges for cable service provided from September 5th or later to October 4th. Back to Top How You Receive Your AT&T ACUS Account AT&T ACUS accounts will be created for most College and SEAS students, excluding wait-listed and transfer students, by the August 8th. You will receive an email notice from AT&T ACUS customer service stating that you have an account. You should have the same account throughout your term at the University. You may login to the ACUS website to get your account and PSC or call ACUS at 1-800-445-6063 weekdays from 11:30am to 8pm. All international students who do not have Social Security Numbers and who are not notified via email that they have an account must call ACUS to get one if you intend to subscribe to cable or other telephone services in one of the residences supported by CUIT. Graduate and General Studies students in University Apartment Housing will not have an account automatically created in most cases. Simply go to the ACUS website or call 1-800-445-6063 to get your account number. Non-students, conference guests, interns and Teachers College students living at Columbia during the summer months are not eligible to receive an ACUS account.
