When you pick up the receiver, you will get a dial tone and the indicator next to your extension button will light up. If you do not get a dial tone, call the CUIT Client Service Desk at 854-1919 to report the problem.

Calling On-Campus

There is no charge for calls made to another campus extension. Use this tie-line chart to dial your on-campus party toll-free. The extensions in the 853 and 854 exchange are always five digits.

Dial 96, wait for dial tone, then dial 1+800, or 1+888, or 1+877. You do not need a PSC to dial a toll-free number.

Dialing *82 for Caller ID Phones with Blocking Features

If you need to call people with the blocking feature on their Caller ID phones, just dial *82 plus the phone number. The Rolm system will pass on the University's main number, 212-854-1754, enabling you to reach the person you are calling without being blocked.
