Back to Top Phones in Rooms Each University residence is equipped with a RolmPhone (either a Model 120 or a Model 624). Your phone number is indicated on your Occupancy Agreement. If you would like to have an additional private phone in your room, you can order one. See the RolmPhone Private Service section. Back to Top Other Free Services On-campus and intra-campus calls on all RolmPhones are free of charge, and there is no specific charge to "turn on" service, so that incoming calls may always be received. Back to Top RolmPhone Upgrade Options You should already have a Model 120 RolmPhone in your room if you live in one these buildings:
Students with a Model 120 RolmPhone can choose the following optional service. Model 624 Upgrade: Upgrades a Model 120 RolmPhone to a basic Model 624, with caller ID and two-way speakers. $10.00 per month. Students with a Model 120 RolmPhone or a standard Model 624 RolmPhone can choose the following optional service. Model 624 Upgrade with Analog Adapter: Provides a Model 624 RolmPhone with caller ID, two-way speakers, and an analog adapter, which allows you to use a modem, fax modem, or fax machine on the Rolm system. When you are connected to the Internet, you will have full graphics capabilities. However, you will not be able to use your phone to make or receive calls when your modem or fax is in use. $13.50 per month. To sign up, either go to CUIT Walk-in Telecommunications Service in 102 Philosophy Hall or use our Optional Services Online feature. Back to Top How to Cancel Optional RolmPhone Services All the equipment associated with optional services must be returned to 102 Philosophy Hall at the end of the semester. If you ordered Private Service, the Model 624 RolmPhone must be returned. If you ordered a Model 624 upgrade, when you must return your equipment you will be given a Model 120 RolmPhone to be placed back in your room before you check out. Never leave a Model 624 RolmPhone or a data or analog adapter in your room (unless you are a Residence Advisor), regardless of whether the equipment was in the room when you first moved in. Failure to return equipment may result in continued monthly charges. If you do not return this equipment your AT&T ACUS bill with be assessed a $25 pick-up fee. If we attempt to recover this equipment and it is not found in your room, your account will be charged as follows: $75 for a 624 RolmPhone, $75 for any data or analog module/power pack, $20 for a 120 RolmPhone, and $25 for any power pack. Back to Top Repairs or Problems If your RolmPhone is not working properly when you arrive, you should report the problem to the CUIT Client Service Desk at 854-1919. If your phone is missing from your room, go to CUIT Communications at 102 Philosophy Hall. Should your RolmPhone be misplaced or damaged during the time you are a resident, you will be held accountable for replacement or repair and you will be billed a minimum of $20.
