Phones in Rooms

Each University residence is equipped with a RolmPhone (either a Model 120 or a Model 624). Your phone number is indicated on your Occupancy Agreement.

If you would like to have an additional private phone in your room, you can order one. See the RolmPhone Private Service section.

PhoneMail

Since the ROLM telephone system includes voice mail (called PhoneMail), you will not need to provide your own answering machine. In fact, answering machines will not work on the Rolm system.

Each RolmPhone has a PhoneMail box that will:
  • answer your phone after four rings
  • play your personal greeting
  • accept and store 20 voice messages in your mailbox
  • let you play back your messages at your convenience
  • let you send and receive messages

Other Free Services

On-campus and intra-campus calls on all RolmPhones are free of charge, and there is no specific charge to "turn on" service, so that incoming calls may always be received.
