Please be aware that rates are subject to constant market and regulatory changes and that some of these numbers may change.
Back to Top Monthly Telephone Fees None. There are no monthly minimums, surcharges, or taxes. Residence rooms are equipped with RolmPhones. Incoming calls can always be received. You are only charged for the off-campus calls you make. Back to Top On-Campus and Intra-Campus Calls Calls are free. Other Columbia-related campuses and buildings can be reached through tie-lines. Back to Top Local Rates Local calls are defined as calls made to the 212, 646, 718, 917, 347 area codes in the five New York City boroughs: Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island. Local calls are billed at Verizon rates minus the taxes and surcharges. (Verizon is the carrier for local and regional calls.) Note: the rates below represent a per-call charge, no matter how long you talk.
Back to Top Regional Rates Regional calls are defined as calls made to all of the 516 and 631 area codes as well as most of the 914 area code. Regional calls are 6 cents per minute, at all times. Back to Top Domestic Long Distance Rates All domestic long distance calls are 8 cents per minute, at all times. Or you can chose the Optional Calling Plan at 6 cents per minute, with a monthly fee of $4.95. (Long distance calls within New York State are 7 cents.) To sign up, go to the ACUS web site and click on "Your Account". After entering your account number and and PSC, the Account menu will appear. Choose Calling Plan. Back to Top International Rates International calls are billed at AT&T´s One-Rate International Plan. No matter what time of day or what day of the week you call, the rate for that country remains the same. For per-minute rates to all countries, see the International One-Rate Chart.
