It is highly selective; this year the College received more than 14,000 applications for 1,010 available spaces in the first-year class. Columbia College, which prizes its renowned Core Curriculum, offers programs of study leading to the B.A. in 61 subjects and has 5 dual degree programs and a joint degree program with the Juilliard School of Music.
