MASTERS AND DOCTORAL CONVOCATIONS

Two Masters Convocations are held by Teachers College to honor the achievements of degree candidates.  Candidates are recognized individually, and the TC Medals for Distinguished Service are presented at each ceremony.

MASTERS DEGREE CEREMONY I:

Arts & Humanities; Biobehavioral Sciences; Counseling & Clinical Psychology; Curriculum & Teaching & Education Policy & Social Analysis.

Date: Tuesday May 21, 2013

Time: 9:30 a.m. Guest seating opens at 8:30 a.m.

Location: Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue at 112th Street

Speaker: Dr. Merryl H. Tisch, Chancellor, NYS Board of Regents

Reception: Immediately following the ceremony at Teachers College

Tickets: Required. Students must register online to reserve their allotted two tickets. Please check the Teachers College Commencement site for dates and deadlines.

Caps and Gowns: Required

Health & Behavior Studies; Human Development; International & Transcultural Studies; Math, Science & Technology; Organization & Leadership.

Date: Tuesday, May 21, 2013

Time: 2:00 p.m. Guest seating opens at 1:00 p.m.

Location: Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue at 112th Street

Speaker: Thomas L. Friedman, Foreign Affairs Columnist for The New York Times and Author

Reception: Immediately following the ceremony at Teachers College

Tickets: Required. Students must register online to reserve their allotted two tickets. Please check the Teachers College Commencement site for dates and deadlines.

DOCTORAL HOODING CEREMONY

Doctoral graduates are hooded by Provost Thomas James, and their accomplishments are celebrated by President Susan Fuhrman, Trustees, and Faculty. The Teachers College Medal for Distinguished Service to Education is presented.

Date: Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Time: 2:00 p.m. Guest seating opens at 1:00 p.m.

Location: Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue at 112th Street

Speaker:  Professor Lee Sing Kong, Director, National Institute of Education

Reception: Immediately following the ceremony at Teachers College

Tickets: Required. Students must register online to reserve their allotted seven (7) tickets. Please check the Teachers College Commencement site for dates and deadlines.
