Do you have original ideas about the world of university-based research, the problems it strives to solve, or its connections to the community outside academe? Are you involved in a research project that the world should know more about--especially a project based at Columbia? Does your expertise extend to the future--a practical and imaginable future, one that combines visionary thinking and realistic applications? Have you perceived an unorthodox, intellectually fruitful connection between disciplines that aren't ordinarily linked in the public mind?

21stC is always interested in original articles about the world of research and scholarship. We encourage our readers to regard themselves as prospective authors as well and to send us proposals for possible articles. To date, our roster of authors ranges from Nobel laureates to journalism students; we invite you to consider joining that august and diverse company. Your ideas could find an informed and responsive audience through 21stC.

The qualities that make an article "21stC material" are simple: it concerns some facet of academic research in any field, it is well-written, and it involves Columbia University in some substantial way (though projects and people at other institutions are of interest to 21stC's readers as well, as our published articles make clear).
