On Sunday, 14 January 2001, CNN aired a special on the David Schaer case at Brandeis, and campus disciplinary procedures in general. The report was extremely critical of Columbia's Sexual Misconduct Policy. FIRE has links to a summary and transcript of the program.

The February 2001 issue of REASON magazine printed a short and highly critical article on Columbia entitled "The Sex Exception."
