Columbia Undergraduate ACLU
Mission Statement

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) exists to preserve and protectthe liberties and privileges guaranteed to each individual by the Bill of Rights. These liberties include freedom of speech and expression, equal protection under the law, due process of law, and the right to personal privacy. The purpose of the Columbia Undergraduate ACLU will be to promote awareness of civil liberties issues that exist on campus, in New York City, and in the rest of the nation. This group is a committee affiliated with the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU), and its functions will include organizing rallies, debates, discussions, speakers, lobbying efforts, and public speak-outs about major issues of civil liberties that currently impact the Columbia student body and the United States as a whole.
