Contract Termination (8.12)

Vendor Selection and Quotation Guidelines

Performance of work under a contract or delivery under a purchase order may be terminated in part or in whole when the Department determines that such termination is in the best interests of the University, and with the prior approval of the Office of the General Counsel. Contracts may be terminated for convenience (i.e., in the event of a reduced need or in the best interests of the University) in accordance with the terms of the contract, or for default (i.e., in the event the Contractor has failed to perform in accordance with the contract requirements). See OMB Circular A-110 §__.48(b) for termination requirements specific to Federal funded grants and cooperative agreements.
