cuAIAA
Welcome to Columbia's student branch of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
We are mainly concerned with the design and construction of a model aircraft to compete in
Cessna's Design-Build-Fly competition. This avionics competition is highly competitive and
attracts teams from top engineering schools both nationally and internationally. We design the
plane from scratch each year, as the missions change annually. At the end of they year we fly
our team out to the competition site (which will be either in Kansas or Arizona) and compete
with our airplane. We are a young club looking to expand, and this is a learning process
for everyone involved. That being said, come check us out. We have no dues, we require no experience.
We look to have a good time, and learn a lot about airplanes along the way. To join, just stop by
at one of our weekly meetings.
