Students, Faculty React to War in Iraq

An antiwar rally took place on March 26 (left) near the Columbia sundial, while Students United for America and the College Republicans (right) held a counterprotest on the steps below Low Plaza. Students chanting, waving flags, and carrying signs took over the center of campus for much of the afternoon. Later that evening, Columbia faculty members gathered in the Low Rotunda for a six-hour teach-in, during which about 30 professors spoke out about the war, the Bush administration, and the American media’s war coverage.
