Commemorating
Brown v. Board of Education

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decision in the school desegregation case, Brown v. Board of Education. In February, Columbia kicked off a yearlong celebration of the case, its history, and its continuing impact on American society with a series of events at the law school. Former U.S. President Bill Clinton gave the keynote address at the second event, on Feb. 2, and posed with President Lee C. Bollinger ’71LAW and Professor Jack Greenberg ’45CC ’48LAW, a member of the legal team that argued the school desegregation case before the Court.
