His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, came to Low Library for the ceremonial close of the Columbia 250 celebration on October 11. He saluted Columbia for its success as a Marshall Centre of Excellence, in a nod to the Marshall and other scholarship programs that send American students to the United Kingdom for graduate study. He also praised John Jay 1764KC and Alexander Hamilton 1776KC for establishing the foundation of the special relationship between the U.S. and the U.K. Here Prince Andrew chats with David Dinkins, former New York mayor and professor of professional practice at SIPA, and Joyce Dinkins.
