Arizona Senator John McCain speaks by cell phone to Hugh DeFazio, the father of Lions fullback Mike DeFazio CC’06 (right). McCain, whose daughter Meghan is a student at Columbia College, addressed the football team in September at the invitation of Coach Bob Shoop. The younger DeFazio, who is majoring in English literature, took advantage of the situation to call his dad, whom he described as “a huge fan of Senator McCain’s books.”
