Are you kidding? "Big Chill??" I came to the College from Minnesota, where men are men and only whooses put on parkas when the temp drops below zero (Fahrenheit). Winters in New York City were a tropical breeze after my own personal record-cold temperature of 45 below zero on a frosty morning on the way to school in St. Paul. Keeping warm in the overheated dorms at Columbia was a piece of cake--well, maybe helped by a cappuccino and a hot combo at Le Figaro down in the Village on a Friday or Saturday night. I never brought any of my really cold-weather gear to New York.
