and we had lots of banners

interestingly, some banners like to make repeat appearences, such as the "Dow Shalt Not Kill" banner, just left of centre (which was penned by the webmaster himself), but the water droplet was, in fact, a replica of a banner we had made for this protest, not so long ago.

Aquene is interviewed by the guy from the Associated Press...

I think technically, we were only allowed a maximum of 50 for this protest (god knows why). I think it is safe to say that there were many more than 50

Say hi to your favourite CUAI board members, shouting it out at the Indian Consualte.

We managed to get an audience with the Consulate-General, so we were held up there for a while. This caused us to miss the Libya and Darfur actions, but we did make it to the Burma protest, which was at the Hammerskjöld Plaza next to the UN.

Appropriately, it was led by the monks

But that didn't mean that everyone else didn't join in with their very very loud voices

Free Burma!

...when should we free Burma, I hear you ask? NOW!

The crowd certainly wasn't about to disperse.

It took me a while to figure out that the funny wiggly line in front of that candle was an attempt at barbed wire... but I figured it out eventually.

Aaah... those darn photographers, always looking out for a photo op.

There was plenty of media presence, which could only be a good thing.

Immediately following that, we walked over to the Sri Lankan consulate, our last stop for the day.

Do not cross? ok... what if I just swapped places with someone on the other side?

For a little while, we were actually shouting in the wrong direction, but we eventually figured out where the Sri Lankan consulate actually was, and redirected our voices.

We had some good chanting going on

...and some pretty interesting banners

despite the police's best efforts, we did manage to disrupt traffic, both pedestrian and vehicular.

How did we disrupt the cars, I hear you ask...

and, finally, when all was said and done, we got on the bus...
